Meet The Coaches

Samsher Malhi

Samsher is a senior who plays Varsity Basketball at Broad Run High School and is returning to HOOPS-LAB-VA as a coach for the 4th year in a row. Ever since second grade, Samsher has always had a love for basketball. He has played with numerous teams, trained with various trainers, and attended many camps over the years. Samsher started his AAU basketball career in 4th grade, where he played for D1SA. In the summer between 6th and 7th grade, he played for Virginia Premier. In 8th grade, he returned to D1SA where he averaged double digits in points and 5 rebounds a game. He played LBA Attach AAU team during high school. In regards to representing his school, he played middle school basketball all three years and played Junior Varsity basketball as a freshman at his high school. Not only is Samsher an experienced basketball player, but he is also an experienced teacher. He volunteers at religious school and is also an instructor at a dance academy. In addition, he also frequently helps develop his younger sister’s skills at the basketball park. Samsher’s experience and passion for basketball is what makes him such a special coach!

Adam Perdue

Adam is a rising sophomore that played varsity for Broad Run in his freshman year of high school. He started most of the games and was a key piece to Broad Run's success last year. Adding on, he averaged around 10 points per game shooting 45 percent from three. Adam knows what it's like to work and get better. In the school year, he woke up early every morning to get shots up and work on his fame before school started to get ahead of his peers. After high school season, he played with the AAU team "Virginia Pride", ranked 25 in the country. Adam there started and was a big part of the team being the shooter and the lockdown defender. Outside of basketball, Adam has learned how to maintain a strong balance between school and sports gaining a high GPA in his freshman year. He has taught his younger brother in school and shows a passion for teaching and mentoring kids to reach their full potential. Adam knows that every kid that comes out of Hoops-Lab-Va will become a better basketball player and person. He hopes that you can join him in the summer to reach all his basketball goals.

Aarav Verma

Aarav is a rising sophomore at Broad Run and plans to play for the school team there. During freshman year, Aarav went to Basis Independent Mclean, where he played for the team and was a consistent starter. Aarav was a big part of the team's success, averaging double-digit points and being one of the best shooters on the team. Aarav still went to shoot at his local gym every day during the season so he wouldn't lose his touch. After the high school season, Aarav still plays basketball every day to get ready for the upcoming year. Aarav, being a former student of HOOPS-LAB-VA, knows its benefits and upsides and wants to share that with other kids. Overall Aarav can't wait to share his talents and knowledge with the youth.
